Meet The Team

SWAY project is run by a group of Trustees who employ staff to carry out the objectives of SWAY.

Our experienced and qualified staff encompass a range of relatable lived out experiences to that of the young people they work with.  This includes challenges around identity, education, anti-social behaviour etc and are trained to use their experiences to support young people overcome their own challenges.  Our combined experience includes 30 years of youth work and providing mentoring support to looked after young people and local secondary schools.

Projects & Youth Leader – Samantha Scott

“As a mother of two grown-up children and a Glam-ma to three grandchildren, I have hands on experience of raising children in today’s society. I have always had a desire to work with children and young people and this was initially lived out through my voluntary roles of running a youth club and being a parent governor.  In 2010 I left My Job as a Shopping Centre Manager of 15yrs and returned to education as a mature learner, achieving the qualification of a BA Honours Degree in Youth Work & Ministry (JNC recognised). I also have an AQA Certificate in Wholistic Mentoring and Diploma’s in Management, Business and Finance.  My experience includes Management, working in the judicial system and delivering youth projects that supports young people through life’s challenges and achieving their future aspirations.  I see my work with young people as a calling and not just a job”.
